Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television and also on stage. Her most well-known role was for her role as Teri (the vigorous legal) Joseph. Born to Mumbai, India and raised in Nigeria until 7 years old, Contractor was well-informed about traveling around the globe and in a wide range of cultures at a very young age. She was educated in a boarding-school in London between the ages of 7 and 9. Her family later moved away from London and moved to Toronto, Canada. Then, in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics and trained as an classical ballerina. She was a student at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, an arts school focused on theater and dance. Contractor took the decision to study acting seriously at age of 16, after ten years dancing. After graduating high school, she accepted a full scholarship to at the University of Toronto, where she pursued a masters in theater and a dual major in sociology and psychology. Contractor auditioned at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After a full year of auditions, she was offered the leading role. The 92 productions she performed earned praise from Canadian theater critics. She was invited to join Stratford's conservatory. It is a place that allows only four males and eight females can attend an intensive 20-week training in classical theater. Contractor's spot was assured for the following season of shows, and she landed Hermia's part for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
